The free app is the whole app: every source, every format, every feature, for as long as you want to test it. The one thing it does is stop each video after 10 minutes, which is long enough to see your own films playing smoothly and too short to watch one. Paying takes that limit off, once, on everything, for good. There is no second tier to buy later.

Activate once, keep it
Settings → Activate licence, scan the QR or type the code. Activation is online once; after that the licence is verified on the headset, offline, on up to 5 headsets. The desktop companion takes the same code, on its own 5 PCs — and hands it to a paired headset, so you only type it once.
